Ms. Nina Vaskunlahti is serving as Ambassador of Finland to India as of September 2016 and she is also accredited to Bangladesh as of May 2017.
She joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland in 1984, after graduating from the University of Turku in 1983 with a Master's Degree in Political Sciences. Since then, she has served in various roles in numerous countries including Mexico, Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Belgium, Russian Federation and Turkey.
The most recent assignments prior to assuming her current post include Ambassador of Finland to Turkey; Director General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland in Helsinki; and Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation of Finland to the European Union.
After three decades spent in foreign affairs, Ms. Vaskunlahti strongly believes in the strength of international cooperation and dialogue.
